THE BEGINNING
Johan Nilsson, or DJ Irish as his friends called him, has been a music enthusiast for as long as he can remember. He discovered the joy of underground electronic music in the very beginning of the 90’s.
By ‘93 Johan was introduced to underground parties in Sweden and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. His feelings for electronic dance music started to grow and soon evolved into a great passion.
THE STYLE
Ever since Johan started to spin around ‘96 his goal has been to bring to the dance floor a taste of all the fantastic and ecstatic moments he had experience himself.
Johan prefers the kind of uncompromising trance music that will fill you with energy and emotions. If it has a rough edge to it, it’s even better. This simple preference is the foundation of what Johan works to give every dance floor. With his blend of energetic and pumping beats Johan has gotten great responses from all kinds of dance floors all over the world.
THE CAREER
Starting as a strictly underground DJ, spinning at loads of local parties, Johan has gone from strength to strength. Locally, he was the most repeated act at the biggest regular trance event in town: Club Amnesia. He’s a full tiem staff member and program director at the internationally acclaimed Internet radio station Digitally Imported Radio (www.di.fm). DI.fm is the biggest internet radio station for electronic dance music and is based out of New York City.
His underground promo set series “Assorted Trance” and “Assorted Hard Trance” has been released on a regular basis since January 2000 and gathered a large following across the globe.
On the strength of his promo sets Johan made his international debut on New Years Eve 2001/2002 with a gig in Cairo, Egypt and have since been spinning in front of ecstatic crowds in countries such as USA, Turkey, Australia, Denmark, Holland, Belgium.
Lately Johan has been busy managing, improving and launching radio channels on the DI.fm Radio Network. He has launched, and continues to be responsible for, HARD DANCE, PROGRESSIVE, TECHNO, MINIMAL and CLASSIC ELECTRONICA CHANNELS.

This is the official homepage of Johan Nilsson aka DJ Irish and DJ Nyman and was setup as an answer to all the feedback they've gotten through their promotional mixes.
In january 2000, based on an idea of DJ Nyman, both DJs started making their promotional sets available to the public through on the Internet
Through the online trance community both Johan's & Nyman's promo sets started to spread quickly among trance fans around the world. After a while, demand for a web site, where people easily could find info about the sets, increased. In september 2000 The AssortedTrance.com web site was born.
The name Assorted Trance was chosen to give the sets a neutral name in order to strip away all the hype and expectations that a name could imply. This was important since both DJs wanted the music and the mixes of the sets to speak for it self as much as possible.
